Description
Developing early phonic and literacy skills is vitally important to enable your child to succeed in early learning and beyond; practising at home is an important step in your child's learning journey. Most children love playing games; the Time2Read app offers an easy and fun way to support their learning. Time2Read has activities that you can enjoy with your child in a world away from school. It is simple to use, looks great and will captivate your child’s interest from the start. The app introduces the first 26 letters of the alphabet, some consonant digraphs and their associated phonemes and graphemes. It also supports the skills of blending and segmenting simple words. Each exciting journey takes children through a fantasy world (Frozen Island, Tropical Island and Desert Island) these being of progressing difficulty. The Time2Read app is particularly good for children learning to identify letters and sounds. The activities are tailored to your child's needs; the levels of difficulty are well balanced and the small steps ensure that your child progresses successfully through each level. The app does not overwhelm children with phonics. Time2Read progresses children slowly through the different levels with some recap games along the way. There are also some helpful checking activities to ensure that your child has got the hang of the new learning before moving forward. The app offers visual and oral clues to help them out if they get stuck! There is always help along the way. In Adult Mode - you can watch the progress of your child. There is also the option to turn activities on and off so that the child cannot race ahead without consolidating their understanding. The app has a review page whereby parents and/or teachers can easily see how well the child is doing and where more practice or challenge is needed. Success is celebrated at various intervals too. ** Time2Read is also currently being trialled in Barking and Dagenham as part of an initiative to develop parental involvement using iPads as an interactive learning aid. ** Key Features: -- Reinforces sound-symbol correspondences. -- App provides visual and auditory cues for letters and sounds. -- Clear human voice correctly articulating the letter sounds. -- Interactive and engaging interface to captivate attention and enthusiasm. -- Discouragement is avoided by keeping the level of challenge appropriate. -- Children are encouraged to celebrate their learning with an adult after each successful session. -- Verbal and visual cues to support a wide range of learners. -- More than one child can be added to the app with their own reports.
