Description
In the “Green Skills” game the idea is based on waste separation. Main aim is to draw attention to the importance of waste separation for recycling and make young people think more when throwing something away. Once you start the game you will see an object and will have to decide in which bin(s) this object has to go on the basis of the material(s) of which the object is made. There are five waste separation bins among which you can choose: blue bin - paper, green bin - glass, yellow bin - plastic and metal, dark brown bin - not recycled, a little red truck bin - special waste (waste that has to be specifically taken away by some institution, e.g. medical waste, or put in special places, e.g. electronics, batteries etc.). Once the object appears on the screen tap the bin(s) where you think it belongs and then click the OK button. Then, the next object will appear. Small ticks will appear on the waste separation bins you have tapped to show you which bin(s) you have chosen for the current object. At the end of each game a different interesting and useful fact, related to waste separation will pop up on the screen. In the frame of “Mobile games in youth work” project supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. “Green Skills” is a free application, mobile game, developed in the frame of “Mobile games in youth work” project (www.mgames-youth.org). The aim of the project is to develop methodology and training games for mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) suitable for the youth work on the topics: entrepreneurship, intercultural learning and green skills. The project also trains youth workers and trainers how to use mobile games in their training or consulting activities. The project also trains youngsters and youth organizations how to develop mobile games for non-formal educational purposes.
