Description
One of the best Shogi apps in the app store! Shogi (将棋, shōgi), also known as Japanese chess, is a strategy board game for two players. It is one of the most popular board games in Japan. Shōgi means general's (shō 将) board game (gi 棋). Shogi was the earliest chess-related historical game to allow captured pieces to be returned to the board by the capturing player. According to professional player Yoshiharu Habu, in Japan shogi is viewed as not merely a game as entertainment or a mind sport but is instead an art that is a part of traditional Japanese culture along with haiku, tanka, noh, ikebana, and the Japanese tea ceremony. Its elevated status was established by the iemoto system supported by the historical shogunate. Features: * Undo * Save/load unfinished game * 5 levels of difficulties * Timer based game * Supports westernized pieces
