Description
Being a mayor is a tough job, but someone has to do it, right? If you’re a fan of simulators, and even more so city building / mayor simulators, this is the game for you! Summary: - Customizable settlement - Over 125 buildings to buy - You need to keep your residents happy - Respond to disasters - Fund the emergency services correctly - Correctly fund utilities - Make Profit - Enjoy yourself! SimMayor is a text based city building mayor simulator which gives you control of everything. When starting the game, you can name your mayor, the settlement and citizen names or, you can just choose to randomize them, it’s up to you! Once you’ve chosen the main details, it’s time to choose your starting budget, climate you then choose if you want the real experience of being up for election each year, or to just have control indefinitely. If you’re a fan of city building simulators then you’ll know that a good place to start a new settlement is to actually get some residents, right? With a choice of multiple residential buildings, you can start to create your ideal settlement. Next up on the list, jobs! Nobody just wants to go through life without being able to earn a living, right? With a choice of multiple commercial and office buildings, it’s your responsibility to make sure your residents are employed. Whether it’s working for a fast-food restaurant or, for a Tech Startup, any job is better than none. Along with making sure everyone has a job, you had better make sure there are enough utility buildings to keep the settlement ticking over. From making sure the garbage gets disposed of to making sure there’s water coming out of everyones taps, it's all on you! If you start to fail in this area, you’ll soon know about it! Residents will not keep quiet for long. Whether they start to talk about you on their social media or decide to riot, you need to be ready! This now leads us into the emergency services! To help keep your residents safe, you need to employ people for the police force, ambulance & fire service. If not, those fires will start to spread further than some nasty gossip about the mayor. Just to keep you on your toes, you will have a range of different disasters that will pop up. Will you choose to repair buildings caused by a fire or will you simply let them all burn to the ground? Will you repair buildings that have been vandalised as part of the ongoing riots around you because people don’t have clean water? To help raise the mood around town, you can throw events and bring your residents together to have a great time! If this can’t raise the public opinion then nothing can! Finally, it’s time for you to make some money. To do this, make sure you have enough commercial buildings to bring in profit each month once the payments have been made for everything else. If you can’t get the hang of this, you can always accept a bribe that’s offered to you, but you need to cross your fingers that you don’t get found out! If it weren’t flooded with ADs, this game would be enjoyable. It takes only a few minutes to get through 1 month. At the end of the month, when your monthly report pops up, it asks you if you want to watch an AD to double your income for that month. I never say yes on any game with this option, as I hate my games being interrupted by unnecessary ADs. I said no, same as always, with this game and was still flooded with ADs. If you enjoy ADs, play this game. If you aren’t as annoyed by ADs as I am, it’s worth the download. I played it MAYBE 4 hours total before I had to un-install it due to the number of ADs. It’s fun and addicting, but not worth the ADs, IN MY OPINION.

With me being a huge fan of this game I think there should be some improvements ... once the city gets to a certain population. I feel the population should grow on its own. This could be due to immigration. And numerous of more reasons ... And the population shouldn't grow based off the housing you buy. It should be more things to add attraction to the city to pull more people into the city and etc. Then with that we can add deaths of citizens then possibly births of new citizens and more so. This is just an idea that I think would be a great addition for the game .. I think the population could also decrease if your are mayor for ever without re election and and acceptance rate goes down the people as the population should have a choice to leave or not . just another idea that I think that would fit perfectly with this game.. more real life corruption and overall better public relations and events.. such as corrupt politician events and etc. Love the game. Huge fan of all of t...

The ads run ridiculously frequent. If you enable the auto-time feature each month passes at random. Days pass randomly. Game mentions it takes 30 seconds for 1 day to pass and 15 minutes for a month to pass. I’ve had months pass back to back within 30 seconds after each of which I had to watch at least one 5-10 second ad. Fun concept but the ads are a bit out of control and the time feature must be fixed.

Had fun playing at first, but the ads became annoying and the auto save feature is off by default. The game crashes when you select owned buildings and then try to select farms. This caused me to lose a lot of unsaved progress. It is also weird because of the rate you have to keep buying tons of landfills and water towers to accommodate a growing population. You end up with like a thousand apartments and 10 thousand landfills. It would’ve been better to just use money from the budget to upgrade/expand the same ones. The title also seems unfitting because there’s not much to do from a mayoral stand point. It’s more like a building simulator.

Maybe a term limits option? Something where you can set having term limits to see how many points or money you can make in that time to compare scores to other people. Or just have it at no limits. My proposed term limit range is 1-5 terms. Also, maybe there could be an event option called “campaign” and you could do it every few days to make an election year more interesting. Enactment date would be cool. Maybe after an election you lose, you have a certain amount of time before the game ends to finish stuff up and maybe still extend your term by a month after. If there was an opponent for elections. An opponent that posts on social media, and even has their own approval rating to have more fun during elections.
