Taala is Sanskrit ताल for rhythm. This app is intended to help Carnatic musicians to have a reference tAlam lookup when a real tAlam buddy is not present in the audience or on stage or during practice. The Seven tAlams are available for selection on the main screen along with a looping visual video of the reference tAlam, in the choice of Jaathi ( 3, 4, 5, 7, 9). The seven tAlams Dhruva, Matya, Rupka, Jhampa, Triputa, Ata and Eka, can be played in any of the five JAthis, Tishram(3), Chatushram(4), Khandam(5), Mishram(7) and Sankeernam(9). The tap-tap-turn rupaka variant is in chatushram. Speed can be changed by tapping the arrows next to the play button.
